In California, a discrimination claim can be filed with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) or with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). State law is often interpreted more generously toward employees than federal law, especially in claims regarding sexual harassment and disability discrimination.
