Shanberg, Stafford & Bartz LLP settles class action for $5.5 million against Equinox on behalf of personal trainers
In March 2013, Shanberg, Stafford & Bartz LLP, along with co-counsel, obtained final approval of a settlement for $5,500,000 against Equinox Holdings, Inc., the company which manages the Equinox fitness centers across the state of California. In the class action lawsuit, Shanberg, Stafford & Bartz LLP represented a class of personal trainers who alleged that Equinox failed to properly compensate the employees for all hours worked, given that the company maintained an unlawful piece rate compensation plan and further required the employees to work off-the-clock. Shanberg, Stafford & Bartz LLP was able to aggressively litigate the case to achieve this excellent result for the class members.
Shanberg, Stafford & Bartz LLP settles class action for $4.9 million on behalf of recruiters and account managers of Randstad US, LP
In April 2013, Shanberg, Stafford & Bartz LLP, obtained preliminary approval from the federal district court in the Central District of California in the case of Casserly v. Randstad US, L.P. In the class action lawsuit, Shanberg, Stafford & Bartz, along with its co-counsel, obtained a $4,900,000 settlement on behalf of a class of recruiters and account managers employed by Randstad who claimed that the company failed to provide the employees with overtime pay and proper meal and rest periods. Shanberg, Stafford & Bartz LLP, and associated co-counsel, effectively litigated the case to a favorable settlement on behalf of hundreds of current and former Randstad employees.
